The USA women's volleyball team stunned Cuba in straight sets, setting up their first gold medal match since 1984.

In the preliminary round, Cuba swept USA in three sets ... marking the only loss by the Americans. In the rematch, it wasn't even close (25-10, 25-25-16, 15-17) as USA took advantage of Cuba's mistakes and added their own great net play.

Cuba is ranked No. 3 in the world rankings and were undefeated in Beijing until today. The Cubans had lost only three sets total in these Olympics before today's sweep.

They will play the winner of the Brazil-China game coming up later today. Brazil is the world's top-ranked team and has yet to lose a set in these Olympic Games. USA beat China in preliminary play ... in what was one of the closest matches in Beijing. The Americans won in five sets; all of which were close.

Italy, the United States' victims in the first round, were ranked No. 2, meaning they could have to topple the world's top three teams to win the gold.
