When Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin appeared on Jay Leno, it was the other guest, Norm Macdonald, who stole the show:
Leno said to Liukin, "I want to ask you about the uneven bars, because a lot of us thought you got robbed."
Liukin launched into a long explanation of the tiebreaking procedures that led her getting a silver medal even though she had the same score as the Chinese gold medalist. Liukin's explanation was long and confusing, and finally Macdonald interrupted to say, "No offense, but that sounds like a bunch of commie gobbledygook."
Amen, Norm.
Asked about the age of the Chinese gymnasts, Liukin noted that she likely would have made the 2004 Olympic team were it not for the minimum age rule, and said, "I just know that I play by the rules. In our country we do."

Imbiciles like "Andrew", undoubtedly a Democrat (just couldn't resist finding a way to slam the USA with his response), should get their collective head out of their collective butt. Marion Jones is a "her" not an "us". Our Olympic team and committee do, indeed, play by the rules. Those individuals who don't think the rules apply to them, and get caught, get punished; just ask Marion. If China broke the rules, they too should pay the consequences. Thats why they are rules; they apply to everyone. Olympic judging has always been a joke and the home team always seems to do better than in years when they are not the home team (it worked for us, too). China had a great Olympics: great for their athletes and definitely one of the most spectacular ever. China has over 4.3 times our population, with over 1.3 BILLION people compared to our 300 million, and an aggresive athletic program, so it's hardly a surprize that they have some great athletes. wht we need to do is find a way to get the politics out of the Olympica and just let the athletes perform. One thing that would help would be to prohibit a judge from scoring their own countryman.

Note to Clark. I may be entirely incorrect, but I believe that a judge cannot judge an event his countrmen or women are in. Am I incorrect???

Clark is the idiot. He managed to turn a benign sports conversation into a slam against people who happen to lean towards the democrats, the party of the people. That's exactly why democrats don't trust republicans. Rightfully so!

Like Republicans, or anyone else for that matter, can trust Democrats?
Funny that, at a time when we hve been fighting against Saddam HUSSEIN and OSAMA, the democrats give us Barack HUSSEIN OBAMA.
Oh, and now he is the great Greek God Obama! ROTFLMAO!!!!

Clark- In gymnastics none of the judges can be from the country of one of the competitors. That's why, if you paid attention, there were judges from South Africa and other countries that don't even have internationally competitive gymnastics programs. Every event had different judges and they didn't judge the same apparatus every day. The judges are moved around and since the best countries weren't able to have judges from their own country or even from other countries that are just as competitive because their athletes were competing it led to some funky judging by inexperienced judges.

Stop the whinning already! Nastia has alot to learn from Shawn Johnson. The rules said you lose based on the tiebreaker. Home advantage excuse is just sour grapes since the score of all the judges was averaged out. She knew that going into these competition what the rules are. As far as the age is concerned, prove that the chinese girls were under age and take their medal away, simple. Otherwise she needs to STFU about it and be glad she got what she got.
As far as Norm MacDonald, he's a US citizen wannabe high school drop out that NBC fire for being boring. He should had continued to flip burgers for a life. The Tonight show has never been the same since Johnny Carson retirement.

Everyone who made this a political commentary should be shot. There are 2 million plus boards, chat rooms and blogs to talk politics where you right and left wing losers can can debate the finer points of why each of you are wrong. Meanwhile the rest of us normal middle Americans want to have 5 damn minutes of peace and watch a Tonight Show clip. Move on wingers.

I only have one thing to say about the age thing:
Over in China when you are born they consider you a year old already. Not sure how that works considering a pregnancy is on 9 months, but I was told that by a teacher of mine that has taught in China for 3 years. So, technically they are underage according to the rest of the world.
