Shawn Johnson Returns to Iowa, Wants to 'See My Pets and Sleep'

Gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson has returned to Iowa and has some very simple plans for what she wants to do now:

Asked in an interview at the Des Moines airport what the one thing she wants to do as soon as she gets home is, Johnson said, "See my pets and sleep."

Johnson seems like a fairly normal teenager who's a little taken aback by her celebrity status; after the jump she explains that she was shocked to learn that Vince Vaughn knows who she is.

I was particularly impressed with how this young woman kept her cool and weathered the disappointments in competition with a smile while on the world stage. I was delighted she came home with a gold in the end. Her team mate Liukin can be proud too but it was Johnson's demeanor that shone throughout. Good job!!!
