Sounds like the biggest Olympic boycott scam since Krusty rigged his scratch-and-win cards in 1984.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://olympics.fanhouse.com/2008/06/18/stephen-colbert-advocates-olympic-boycott/">Stephen Colbert Advocates Olympic Boycott</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://olympics.fanhouse.com">Olympics FanHouse</a> on Wed, 18 Jun 2008 20:20:00 EST . Gone are the 1970's, when people had few entertainment choices other than the big three (four) networks, and pretty much any product that wanted to reach a TV audience had to do so by paying a king's ransom to NBC, CBS, and the like. Now I have 800 gazillion channels and Tivo, so I don't need to watch a single TV the rest of my life. It's awesome.<br /> <br /> So I know NBC has to square its own network promotion in its own shows. I get it. But that doesn't make it any less lame (via <a href="http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/the_sporting_blog/entry/view/8271/firstcuts_30_rock_reminds_us_about_olympics">TSB</a>): <br /><br /><object width="425" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/trQs613qt2bSvPUGoLFreQ"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/trQs613qt2bSvPUGoLFreQ" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="295"></embed></object> <br /> <br /> Seriously, NBC, just tell us you're having the Olympics. Just make Tracy Morgan about-face the camera and scream it from the top of his brilliantly deranged lungs: The Beijing Olympics! This summer! On NBC!What! <br /> <br /> It wouldn't exactly be "integrity," but it'd be much closer.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://olympics.fanhouse.com/2008/05/14/nbc-ruins-perfectly-good-30-rock-with-beijing-olympics-promotion/">NBC Ruins Perfectly Good 30 Rock With Beijing Olympics Promotion</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://olympics.fanhouse.com">Olympics FanHouse</a> on Wed, 14 May 2008 11:10:00 EST . Here's a clip, featuring, among others, 1976 decathlon gold medalist Bruce Jenner:<br /><object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uE0XjpaT_0s&amp;rel=1&amp;border=0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uE0XjpaT_0s&amp;rel=1&amp;border=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object><br />It was sort of a precursor to both "Just Say No" and "We Are the World." And back then, Bruce Jenner was actually a big star. Good times.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://olympics.fanhouse.com/2007/12/15/random-youtube-magic-bruce-jenner-urges-you-to-get-high-on-your/">Random YouTube Magic: Bruce Jenner Urges You to Get High On Yourself</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://olympics.fanhouse.com">Olympics FanHouse</a> on Sat, 15 Dec 2007 16:38:00 EST .
